3rd March 2018
Are you interested in a career in IT? As part of the 2018 Bring IT On initiative, Specialisterne NI, in association with Belfast Metropolitan College, invite young people on the Autistic Spectrum to discover what types of roles you may consider in N Ireland’s IT Sector.
This workshop will help you learn about roles in the IT Sector and how to best prepare for each role. We will share how people on the Autistic Spectrum are making a difference to Northern Ireland’s IT Sector by bringing valuable skills and an ability to think out-of-the-box.
A professional actor will role-play scenarios of communication difference in the workplace so that you can explore communication strategies for work.
Young people and family members are welcome to attend this event, where you will have an opportunity to hear from people working in IT in N Ireland.
Two guests will win an Amazon Echo.
The BringITOn Career Workshop is being held at the autistic- people friendly* Jack Straws Board Game Cafe, where you will have a chance to play board games (there are 400+ games to choose from!), have a snack, meet people working in IT, or just sit and enjoy the event.
